Search me, O God, and know my heart (A time of humbling. Circa 76/77)

Dear Praying Friends,

The year was 1976. In year 1976 I REMEMBER JOHN SUNG By William Schubert was published by the Far Eastern Bible College (1st Edition). And we read it with humbling self searching.

The place was School of Mission, 22, Jalan Belang, Off Upper Thompson Road, Singapore

Below is a photo taken in  SOM (Circa 1976)

On my right is a young fig tree. Surrounding SOM are 3 to 4 rambutan trees. We have abundant food & fruit but only $80 per month Scholarship. So we lived frugally. See that shirt I wore. It was taken from a pile donated to poor people like China Town folks or anyone in need. That one still good & fits me perfectly.

Nothing to be ashamed of as Christ was born in a manger.

1976 was also the year when I was elected as Proctor

And then in year 1977 below is Rev Matthew Khoo (Proctor for Year 1997)

Every year SOMers gathered to cast votes to elect a new Proctor.

Notice the Fig tree has grown taller & the grass beside has been trimmed?

Rev.  Dr. Matthew Khoo now the current Chinese Pastor of JSM, Singapore is more disciplined
