Dear Praying Friends from near and far wherever you are,
This year – long a very long pause God has now opened another chapter of His Gracious Work from time past.
We already posted about the promises of God in the Bible. When God gives a command He always back it up with an unfailing promise. So that no one who truly put their trust in His Everlasting Faithfulness will be disappointed.
It was in mid 1981 when I visited Old Folks Home in Jalan Belang, Singapore that I met Sis Betty Soh. Out of the blue she asked this question, “Do you have any girl in mind that you like?”
I replied, “You will be surprised if i were to tell you”. She said, “No, I won’t”
Then I told her, “I like your Sister Dolly Soh”. She was taken aback. Then I added, “I got a promise from the Bible and it says, “A Prudent wife is from the LORD”. Without hesitation Betty replied, “Yes, Dolly is very prudent!”
So she said she will convey my message to Dolly. After returning to KL JSM I received a letter (that was how we kept in touch in those yesteryear when Mobile Phone was not in use as yet)
So my first letter to Dolly was a proposal. I told her God wanted her to be my wife. She being very prudent did not say yes or no. But she invited me out for lunch on my next trip to Singapore. From there God led us to get engaged on January 1st 1982. With the attending grace of Rev. Dr. Peter Ng, the Founding Pastor of Jesus Saves Mission
And Dr. Ng said, “Dolly is the very best girl from BHS Jesus Saves Mission, Singapore.
That was in year 1982 (more than 43 years now). And it has been a very wonderful & blessed 43 years of matrimony
Since I was called to Full Time Service I prayed that God would also do the same to her
CALLED AT JSM WORKERS’ CONFERENCE
In December 1981 Dolly came up to Penang Hill for the Workers’ Conference
And this was what happened. When the Preacher gave out the Calling Invitation on the Final Night of the Conference I was moved to go up to two persons & gently invite them to go out to the front for Consecration
The first person was Dolly. At my gentle urge Dolly got up straightaway and went to the front. Then I was moved to speak to a brother (somehow i was led)
And to my surprise, he too, got up immediately and went forward!
It was only after that the Service that I found out from Dolly
She said, “Actually when the Invitation was given I asked a sign from God. If God wants me to serve Him move Eng Yee to come and encourage me”
Ha! So her instant response was actually in anticipation of her prayers
Then I asked the brother who also went forward.
He said, “If God wants me to go serve Him then move a Reverend (Pastor) to come and call me (It was only a year ago in 1980 that I got ordained
So Almighty God moved
He caused the Preacher to give the Invitation (that night there were other consecrators)
He moved Dolly and another brother to pray and ask for signs (in this case a visible human must come to give a personal invitation)
And my, of the many many there I was led by the Spirit to speak to only two
And both responded instantly!!
The Bible Says, “Thy people will be willing in the day of Thy Power”
And that Power was manifested in two prayers that got answered
Now 44 years have come and gone. May i ask, “Who was that brother who prayed in December 1981”?

I was called to Serve in December 1973
In 1977 4 years later we have the Most Amazing Revival
Then 4 more years in 1981 my wife was called
As her life verse is an apt description
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose”
All glory & praise to His Most Infinite Grace & Calling
